White Girl - Film Review

FILM NAME: White Girl (2016)

DIRECTOR: Elizabeth Wood

RUNNING TIME: 88 Minutes

Today I will be reviewing : 'white girl'.

Summer, New York City. A college girl falls hard for a guy she just met. After a night of partying goes wrong, she goes to wild extremes to get him back

Where to start this film is full of stereotypes but from the Latino race to the american race. Which some could find very insulting . But where I would say is the turning point in this film is when two people from different worlds come together through love. I would say there love is not the stereotypical nuclear love. As through their relationship they are encountered by drugs, sex and crime that quickly pulls them apart.

This story is told over the summer time a young girl on her way to university seeking independence, who goes with a bad boy character, who is a drug dealer that ends up getting locked up. Through the twisted turn in events she begins to try and find ways to make his bail money. Doing whatever it takes to get it.

It becomes very dark twisted at this stage reflecting the images of young girls when, they make big mistakes that will come back haunt them in their future. In the end of the story she he ends up killing someone for her after they share a loving moment. Sending him straight back to prison. After she did some pretty gruesome things to get him out !!

Check Out the Trailer Below, this film is currently on Netflix if you would like the full preview. It is definitely a must see. The ending is strategically put together. Making this film a deep piece of art that resonates with me. Due to its true nature of the phase most teenage/ young adults go through on the walk to find themselves.

On a Scale Of 1 to 5 (Five being Amazeballs!! & 1 being the Worst)

Rating : 4
